"Design and Construction of an Innovative Panel System for Affordable, Safe, Energy Efficient Housing"
Dr. Colaco discussed the development of Foam Based Single Family Housing Systems. Conventional homes are built with wood, using "stick-built" ballroom framing. But several builders are using foam to build homes.

For example:

• Microstone - Foam with fiber reinforced shins
• FAS/CLEAN - Uses SIPS panels made by Thermasave
• HCI - AmHome - Uses concrete columns and beams within the foam.

Dr. Colaco presented results from wind and seismic tests, and calculations on energy savings on the FAS/Clean home.
