The Business of Fueling Our Future:  Earth, Wind and Sun

Conference Description

The Academy of Medicine, Engineering, and Science of Texas, TAMEST, and the Texas A&M University System are organizing a conference on renewable energy titled The Business of Fueling the Future - Earth, Wind, and Sun. The focus of the conference is on biofuels, and wind and solar energy. The conference will present plenary and keynote speakers of international stature and will include presentations addressing technology, environment, economics, and policy issues and research. A poster session will offer state-of-the-art research on renewable energy. The conference is open to the public.

Poster Session Details

The poster sessions will be an opportunity to showcase your research and for informal scientific interactions with colleagues. Posters will be displayed during the entire event with opportunities to present research during breaks and the Thursday evening reception. Research categories for the poster sessions include: Wind Energy, Solar Energy and Biofuels. One hundred posters will be selected for presentation at the conference. Posters will be accepted from students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, companies, labs and agencies.

Poster Session Awards

A $200 award will be available for up to seventy students whose poster is selected.  Anyone wanting to submit their research poster for consideration much register for the conference and submit the poster and an accompanying abstract by the deadline of February 29, 2008.

In addition, the top winner from all the posters submitted in each of the three major topic areas (wind energy, solar energy and biofuels) will be given the opportunity to present his or her research orally during a plenary session of the symposium. Posters selected for presentation and the three winners of the poster session topic areas will be notified in early March, 2008.
