Giving to The Academy
Academy Goals
The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas was established in 2004 with the following goals:
- to establish contacts and foster interchange by and among scientists, engineers and healthcare professionals within the State of Texas;
- to promote excellence and enhance recognition of excellence in the areas of science, engineering and medicine; and
- to serve as an intellectual resource for governmental and private entities
Sources of Financial Support
The Academy receives support in the form of annual dues from member institutions, conference sponsorships, grants for special projects, and individual contributions.
The DeBakey Endowment, named in honor of one of The Academy’s most distinguished members, Dr. Michael DeBakey, was established in 2006 to respond to the need to ensure the long-range financial stability of the organization.
Your Gift is Tax Deductible
The Academy is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all contributions are tax deductible. Contributions are accepted as unrestricted gifts, or restricted gifts to the DeBakey Endowment. Both unrestricted gifts and endowment distribution funds are used to support Academy operations, programs and activities.
