Eligibility: Technology Innovation Award

Nominees must be employed in industry

Nominees must be within 25 years of their first degree

Nominees must have spent the past two years (ending October 31, 2009) performing research or developing technology in Texas

Past nominees may be re-nominated

If a team is nominated, at least one team member must meet the eligibility standards

TAMEST members are not eligible for nomination
General guidelines
- Nominators may designate one or more award categories as appropriate, however, the O’Donnell Awards Selection Committee reserves the option to consider a nomination in any category.

Past nominees may be re-nominated by completing the re-nomination form. Although not required, additional or updated information may be submitted for consideration in the 2010 review process.
- Eligible nominators include TAMEST members, university presidents, chancellors, vice-presidents for research, deans, or industry executives.

If the committee elects to recognize more than one individual in a field, the $25,000 honorarium will be divided evenly among the winners and each will receive a citation and statue.
Selection process
The selection process includes reviews by the TAMEST's Awards Committee in consultation with selected national experts from the National Academies and from industry, plus a panel of Nobel Laureates from Texas. The TAMEST's Board of Directors will approve the final selection of award recipients.
Content guidelines
Instructions for preparing nominations are meant to serve as guidelines; TAMEST encourages nominators to be innovative in presenting candidate accomplishments. The committee is looking for substantiation of achievements as well as significance of nominee accomplishments.
