Technology Innovation
The O’Donnell Award in Technology Innovation recognizes individuals or research teams from industry that have made a major innovative technological discovery that has the potential for making a positive impact on society.
Nominees for The Technology Innovation Award come from a wide range of disciplines including:

The scope of this award may be thought of as a junior version of the Draper Prize administered by the National Academy of Engineering, or the National Medal of Technology given at the national level.
Eligible candidates must:
- Be employed in industry
- Be within 25 years of their first degree
- Have spent the past two years conducting research or developing technology in Texas
- If a team is nominated, at least one team member must meet these eligibility standards
